German Official Regrets Mishap in Ashura

TEHRAN In a meeting with Deputy Justice Minister Hojjatoleslam Montazeri on Tuesday, the German Foreign Ministry official expressed Regret on the mishap in the German city of Cologne on the sacred event of Ashura. Referring to the importance placed by the Iranian nation on the religious sanctities, Hojjatoleslam Montazeri stated that the Islamic Iran did not expect Germany to allow a bunch of terrorists to attack the Iranian attendants within the Ashura ceremonies.

He further remarked that the support of the German police of these crimes are rather regretful. The German official added that unfortunately the German police is unaware of the issues of concern among religions. On the day of Ashura, a few of anti-revolutionary elements, being supported by the Cologne police, attacked the mourners of Ashura, while insulting the Islamic sanctities.
